On our wiki, categories (i.e. Al Brooks abbreviations) will be structured into parent/children relationship. For example, RVB stands for Reversal Bar, it has two children: BLRVB for bull reversal bar and BRRVB for bear reversal bar, then BLRVB has its own chidlren: BLRVB-XL, which means extra large bull reversal bar.

The purpose of doing this is that simply tagging a chart with "RVB" is not enough most of the time, because reversal bar happens many times every day, however extra large bull reversal bar (BLRVB-XL) does NOT, it is much rarer, and when it happens and the context is right, it is usually a reasonable buy set up. By tagging a chart with BLRVB-XL when such bull reversal bar appears, we will be able to quickly get a list of examples charts for reference when we see a very large bull reversal bar appears during real time trading, it will hep us to do pattern matching in real time.

Below is another example "FBO", Failed Breakout. FBO happens on every day's chart, so simply tagging a chart with FBO is not good enough, but if we can tag a chart with "failed breakout above high of yesterday in the form of double top" (FBO HOY DT), it is going to be very helpful as quick reference when the same pattern appears.

How to find it when I need it? Just search. For e.g. type "FBO HOY" in search bar you will get the list:
