Spike and Channel trend. It is a breakout followed by a pullback and then at least 2 more legs in a channel, which often has a wedge shape. SC trend is the most common type of trend and is present in some form almost every day and in every trend. [1]
- Market usually corrects to the start of the channel, which is a test of the gap (the spike, like all spikes, is a gap)[2]. See a typical SCBLT on 20230324
- If SC happens in TR, especially after a strong bull leg AND the overall context has been in TR (especially BDBU type of TR), it is more likely the SCBRT is a bear leg in TR too. For e.g: 20230308
- The spike usually starts from important support or resistance.
- Very often a L1=L2 Measured Move takes the form of a Spike and Channel trend
